In 2025, the total cost of the Easter basket will fluctuate between UAH 426 and UAH 1,113, depending on its contents. This is stated in the monthly monitoring of food prices by the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB).

A budget version of a basket, including Easter cake, Easter eggs, salt, horseradish and a candle, costs an average of 426 UAH – 33% more expensive than in 2024.
If you want to add cheese, sausage and mustard, it will cost 847 UAH (23% more than in 2024), and Cahors wine, cucumbers, tomatoes and lard will increase the price of the Easter basket to 1,185 UAH, which is 17% more expensive than last year.
Two weeks before Easter, only groceries show a decrease in price among food products, while dairy products, chicken and most vegetables continue to rise in price.
Prices for key Easter products are expected to remain at current levels or fluctuate slightly over the next two weeks.
In the run-up to Easter, special attention is paid to the prices of chicken eggs, an integral attribute of the holiday. Over the past month, the average cost of a dozen eggs has jumped by 9%, reaching 76.4 UAH. Compared to the same period last year, the price has increased by almost 30%.
High demand on the eve of the holiday will keep egg prices at the same level or may provoke further minor fluctuations. However, already in May, after the holidays, the supply of eggs on the market will increase due to production from households, which in turn will lead to a decrease in prices on the shelves by about 25%.

Also, the index of the main Easter baked goods has grown significantly this year: preparing 3-4 Easter cakes weighing 500-600 grams according to the classic recipe will cost UAH 318.4, which is 38.6% more expensive than before Easter 2024.
The greatest impact on cost is exerted by butter (increased in price by 71% and is 121 UAH per 200 grams), milk (+31%, 30 UAH per 500 grams) and eggs (+61%, 58 UAH per 8 pieces).
In addition, to bake Easter cake you need flour and sugar, which have become somewhat cheaper over the last month: flour by 8%, and sugar by 6%.
However, this reduction in price does not compensate for the annual price increase: flour is still 14% more expensive than in April 2024, and sugar is 13% more expensive. The cost of yeast has remained unchanged.
The traditional roast pork neck has increased in price by 2% in a month and costs 20% more than last year — 275 UAH/kg. Lard remains relatively stable — 239 UAH/kg (+1% in a month and +1% in a year). Hard cheese, often added to the basket, has increased by 5% in a month and by 21% in a year — costs 595 UAH/kg.
Prices for tomatoes and cucumbers have fallen slightly over the past month due to increased imports and domestic supply. However, compared to last year, they have risen by 12-25%. Minor fluctuations are possible for the holiday, but a sharp increase is not expected.
