In February, the volume of NPL in banks decreased by almost UAH 1.2 billion, while the gross volume of loans provided by banks increased by UAH 15.8 billion.

The share of non-performing loans of individuals as of March 1, 2025 was 15%, of businesses – 39% (23% excluding the debts of the former owners of Privatbank and old debts from before the crisis of 2014-2016).

The NBU noted that among the factors that had a positive impact on the share of NPLs, there remains the continued increase in the volume of high-quality hryvnia loans by banks.

Before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the share of NPLs in Ukrainian banks began to decline since 2018: from 55% to 27% as of March 1, 2022.
