EU aid for Ukraine: Hungary says it will block provision of 2 billion euros

Budapest will block European Union assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 2 billion euros due to the fact that “discrimination against Hungarian communities” has not yet stopped in Ukraine. This was stated by the Hungarian Peter Szijjártó, the League writes with a link to the Index publication.

Hungary’s position

He noted that in Brussels they want, in addition to the 500 blocked by Hungary million euros, Budapest agreed to the allocation by EU members of another 1.5 billion euros for Ukraine.

According to him, until the situation changes, the provision of assistance will not be agreed upon.

    Hungary blocked the allocation of the seventh tranche to Ukraine in the amount of 500 million euros from the European Peace Fund, allocated for military assistance.
