Income growth was due to an increase in the number of tourists. In 2023, the country was visited by 7.1 million international tourists, which is 75.6% more than in 2019 and 30.3% more than in 2022.
Most tourists to Georgia came from Russia (1.42 million people, or 23% of the tourist flow), Turkey (1.4 million, 21%) and Armenia (962.5 thousand, 13.5%).
The flow of Ukrainian tourists to Georgia decreased slightly up to 160 thousand people over the past year.
In 97.2% of cases, tourists who visited Georgia last year came to the country earlier or visited it several times during 2023.
At the same time, each tourist spent an average of $344 in Georgia during his visit, which is 15.9% less compared to 2022.
