Lithuania allocated more than 300 thousand euros to support refugees from Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers of Lithuania by consensus agreed to allocate an additional 326 thousand euros to support refugees from Ukraine. These funds will be transferred to Ukrainians living in Lithuania through the Ministry of Social Security, Labor and Health. TV3 reports this.

Who will receive the money

    304 thousand euros will be allocated for expenses to be incurred in February 2024. Of these, 160 thousand euros will be used to provide inpatient social care, 130 thousand euros will be used for one-time assistance for settling in the municipality and compensation for educating a child in a preschool or preschool education program.

    14 thousand euros are allocated for institutional social care , provided in accordance with the procedure for allocating social services to foreigners established by the Minister of Social Protection and Labor.

    21,861 euros will be allocated to reimburse the living expenses of persons from Ukraine incurred by the Vilnius University Hospital in October-December 2023. Of the allocated funds, 3.6 million euros will be allocated to Ukrainian students studying in undergraduate and full-time programs.

    352.6 thousand euros will be allocated to Ukrainian master's students. The funds are intended to partially reimburse tuition fees and scholarships.
