As a result of enemy shelling, the land resources of the Kurakhovskaya Thermal Power Plant suffered damage amounting to more than UAH 986 million, and another UAH 1 million in damage was caused to the environment. This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

“The state environmental inspection in the Donetsk region carried out calculations of the amount of damage caused by contamination of the land resources of the Kurakhovskaya Thermal Power Plant due to armed aggression and hostilities during operation martial law. The amount of damage caused to the land resources of the Kurakhovskaya TPP territory amounts to more than UAH 986 million,” the message says.
The inspection also carried out 10 damage calculations for air pollution. As a result of air pollution resulting from hostilities, the total amount of damage caused to the environment is more than 1 million UAH.
In addition, 14 cases of contamination of Kurakhovskaya TPP lands with oil products and waste from destruction as a result of constant Russian shelling of the city of Kuhokhovoy.
“The calculated damage should continue to be the basis for the recovery from the aggressor country of all damage caused to the environment of Ukraine,” the OVA emphasized.
