This progressive move was confirmed by the signature of Czech President Pavel Petr of the corresponding changes in legislation.
The new amendment to the law extends the period of temporary protection for Ukrainian citizens in the Czech Republic until March 2025. At the same time, it establishes a mechanism for providing financial support to those Ukrainians who decide to return back.
The amount of financial compensation is still in question, remaining at the discretion of the Czech government.
The country sets the conditions for receiving such payments – refugees will be able to request it only once and no later than three months before the end of the period of temporary protection in the Czech Republic, that is, until the end of 2024.
It is worth noting that such a measure not only provides support for those who decides to return to their home country, but also creates an additional incentive to facilitate the return of Ukrainians to their homeland.
Recall that Putin can end the war in Ukraine without key conditions: the Russian Federation said that it is known.
