Commenting on the idea of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to punish men hiding from mobilization abroad, Zaluzhny refused to assess this category of those liable for military service.
At the same time, he hopes to eventually see them in the ranks of defenders Ukraine. Answering the question whether, in his opinion, it is necessary to return these Ukrainians, and whether there are ways to do this, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine answered:
«Armed forces must fight and in no way encroach on the peaceful life of our citizens, including those who have left our country. For this purpose, there are authorized bodies of the central executive power that can make appropriate decisions regarding them. Today I cannot evaluate them and do not want to do so. But I will be very glad if after some time I see them in the troops, and with great pleasure I will organize training with them, even abroad.
