Ukraine received Patriott complexes for service in April 2023. Until this time, Ukrainian defenders did not have such systems and means in their arsenal. Ignat noted that it is the Patriot that is capable of shooting down ballistics and aeroballistic missiles, such as Kinzhal.
He stated that as of December 31, the Patriot system had shot down 15 Kinzhal missiles #187;, which the Russian occupiers launched across Ukraine.

At the same time, Ignat noted that Ukraine needs more of these Patriott-type air defense systems, because they help protect the Ukrainian sky not only from enemy missiles, but also aircraft.
