In June 2023, in the Sumy region, a man, during selection for the TCC for the mobilization service, made statements expressing support for the Russian Federation. in particular, he praised Putin's actions and expressed confidence that life in Russia is better than in Ukraine.
The man allegedly supported Russia's seizure of Ukrainian territories and expressed agreement with actions that led to the death of the civilian population of Ukraine.
«President of the Russian Federation Putin is doing everything right and I completely agree with his actions, the seizure of the territories of Ukraine and the murder of the civilian population of Ukraine. It's better to live as part of Russia. As an example, Melitopol, in which after the occupation people began to live better than during the time of Ukraine», — stated the suspect.
Moreover, he stated his intention to surrender in the event of mobilization, providing all deployments to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, citing family ties with the occupying army through his uncle. The suspect admitted guilt during the pre-trial investigation and made a deal with the prosecutor.
The Belopolsky District Court of the Sumy Region issued a verdict in which the man was sentenced to 1 year probation under Part 1 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
