American Republican legislator Mitch McConnell said that the Senate may consider funding for US aid to Ukraine next week. He said most Democrats control the agenda in the Senate, but he is confident negotiators will release a border security agreement within days.
« ;My guess is that we will likely take up this issue in the Senate next week. We hope to receive a package of measures that are trustworthy, this also applies to border documents», — the Republican noted.
The politician stated that he does not know what the result will be in the House of Representatives, which makes the final decision after the Senate’s decision.
«We are working to obtain a package that is credible and addresses national security and border security issues», — McConnell added.
