Director of the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration Ruslan Kandibor said that the reasons for the deformation of the tunnel between the «Demeyevskaya» and «Lybidskaya» is poor quality design and construction of the site.
«On January 24, the first preliminary conclusions of an expert study from a specialized scientific institution were received on the reasons for the deformation of the tunnel, which led to a stop in train traffic between the «Demeyevskaya» metro stations. — «Lybidskaya». In their conclusion, the scientists noted that the reason was poor-quality design solutions for the construction of the tunnel within the emergency area. As well as poor-quality construction and installation work on the tunnel structure of this section», — he noted.
According to him, this particular section of the tunnel passes through extremely complex hydrogeological conditions: the soil is very water-saturated, with a layer of peat, fine and medium sand. He also noted that the expert study is ongoing.
«The final results will be known after opening the pit. Only then will experts be able to carry out all the necessary studies of the tunnel structure from the outside. However, we can already see that the reason is poor-quality design and careless execution of work, the consequences of which now have to be eliminated», — he said.
