Speaker of the State Border Guard Service Andrei Demchenko said that most often evaders try to escape abroad through the «green» station or through checkpoints with fake documents. According to him, border guards record illegal attempts at such crossing every day.
He noted that the number of illegal attempts to cross the state border does not increase or decrease, but remains constant. Every day, border guards counter such attempts through the «green» areas outside checkpoints, including along rivers. Also, those liable for military service are trying to escape through checkpoints with fake documents.
Demchenko noted that to monitor movement in the border zone and promptly respond, employees of the State Border Guard Service use, in particular, technical means.
«Speaking of «green» section of the border, then most of such attempts continue to be recorded on the border with Romania and Moldova, and if about the directions of the checkpoints — this is the border with Poland, because this section accounts for the largest passenger traffic», — added Demchenko.
