Doctor of Economic Sciences Andrey Dligach noted that Ukraine, from an economic point of view, cannot mobilize 500 thousand Ukrainians. He emphasized that Kiev does not have the means to carry out such a large-scale conscription.
«There can be no talk of 500 thousand mobilized at all, because there is no such resource. According to our calculations, the mobilization of more than 15% of men who may be subject to conscription could lead to an economic catastrophe in the country», — he said.
At the same time, he emphasized that if more calls are made, enterprises in Ukraine will begin to close en masse.
«We calculated that the maximum ceiling we can reach now is 230 thousand men. Therefore, we need to look for a different approach: through recruiting, through optimization not so much of costs as of the use of existing human resources,” the economist added.
