The government of the country has declared its readiness to help in the detention and return of such persons to Ukraine.
About this information was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, reports URA-Inform.
In the context of the continuation of the war in Ukraine, Moldova announced the strengthening of its cooperation with the Ukrainian authorities to prevent illegal border crossing by persons evading military service.
In particular, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova Adrian Efros reported that men between the ages of 18 and 60 are especially active in trying to cross the border illegally. He noted that Transnistria, an unrecognized territory in eastern Moldova, is often used for illegal border crossings.
«We conduct one or two operations to combat and destroy various schemes organized on the territory of the Republic of Moldova either by citizens of the Republic of Moldova, or citizens of the Republic of Moldova together with citizens of Ukraine», — Efros said.
The minister emphasized that he had already discussed with his Ukrainian colleague the possibility of resuming joint patrols in Transnistria to more effectively combat illegal migration. He also noted the need to monitor routes from Transnistria and establish close cooperation with Ukrainian border guards.
We recall that it was previously reported that Poland made a fateful decision regarding Ukraine: a special ban is being introduced from April 1.
