Instructor pilot, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military expert Roman Svitan said that the Russian Federation could launch a new large-scale offensive in the summer of 2024 .

According to him, Russia's military action plan is defined in their constitution, which includes four regions of Ukraine: Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk, Lugansk and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Therefore, Svitan noted, the occupiers will try to enter the administrative borders of these regions, moving from the Lugansk region to Donetsk and Zaporozhye, and then to Kherson.
“It is impossible to accomplish this with an additional 100 thousand force. Russia can send troops to the Lugansk region in order to oust the Ukrainian Armed Forces beyond the Oskol River and Seversky Donets. In this case, the enemy will capture the Lugansk and even part of the Kharkov region, however, provided that 100 thousand soldiers survive and do not become a replacement for the liquidated occupiers,” he emphasized.
Svitan noted that the Russians have a new problem & #8212; they do not have enough troops to cover the front along the Russian-Ukrainian border. From the Ukrainian side it passes through the Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkov regions, and from the Russian side – the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions.
“Russian volunteer formations – the Freedom of Russia Legion, the RDK and the Siberian Battalion – on the eve of the Russian presidential elections, began an operation in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. Their goal is to disrupt the new offensive of the Russian army,” — the colonel noted.
Svitan assured that even with a 100,000-strong group, the Russians will not be able to close the additional 500 kilometers along the three regions. Probably, part of the troops that are now being trained in Russia will be deployed on the upcoming front line.
“This is very beneficial for us. We will stretch the front and try to deploy it: from the direction West – East, that is, Kherson – Kupyansk to the North – South, that is, Chernihiv region – Kharkov region. This is the task we face. We are fulfilling it. We are helped by the national formations of those states of Russia into which it will disintegrate,” the expert predicted.
