On the night of Wednesday, May 8, the Russians attacked electricity generation and transmission facilities in six regions of Ukraine.

The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported that during the night attack by the Russians, hits and damage were recorded in Poltava, Kirovograd , Zaporozhye, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia regions.
«The enemy does not abandon plans to deprive Ukrainians of light. Another massive attack on our energy sector. The consequences are still being determined. Energy workers are already working to eliminate them», — noted in the department.

In the Poltava region, they managed to shoot down hostile targets, but a «shaheed» into an energy infrastructure facility. A fire broke out at the site of the impact; no injuries were reported.
In the Kyiv region, a civil infrastructure facility caught fire in one of the settlements of the Brovary district. According to the OVA, 2 people were injured – a woman born in 1962 and a man born in 1990. It is reported that they were hospitalized at the Brovary hospital in a stressed state and with injuries to their limbs.
In the Zaporozhye region, Russians also ended up in critical and civil infrastructure facilities. According to the OVA, there is destruction, but preliminary without casualties.
In addition, the enemy attacked critical infrastructure facilities in the Vinnytsia region, and a hit was also recorded there.
In the Kirovograd region in Alexandria Critical infrastructure was also damaged in the area. The OVA reported that an eight-year-old child was injured. 13 private houses and almost three dozen garages were previously destroyed.
Air defense worked in Kyiv, Lviv and Frankiv regions. To shell the capital, the Russian invaders used Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers, local authorities reported. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or destruction in the capital.
In this regard, the Ministry of Energy urged Ukrainian citizens to use electricity carefully, especially in the morning and evening hours.
