Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov emphasized that the Pokrovsko-Mirnograd agglomeration is the last defense area before the Dnepropetrovsk region.
This information was reported by Telegraf, reports URA-Inform.
He noted that at In the Pokrovsky direction, a critically difficult situation has developed, which immediately requires systematic and balanced decisions by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Headquarters. According to him, over the past seven days the invaders have advanced 6 km in the direction of Mirnograd-Pokrovsk.
“There are 14 km left to the city of Mirnograd. Only 14. Mirnograd is in the long-range artillery shelling zone. If the enemy's action is allowed into Mirnograd, they will receive a concentration and accumulation zone and will be able to attack Pokrovsk itself. The Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration is the last defense area before the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy is very close, the situation is critical, since the enemy's rate of advance is worrisome,” Butusov said.
Commanders and soldiers defending the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd region note that the main problem in conditions of intense hostilities is management and organization. Russian forces attack first those brigades that have the weakest leadership and coordination. The enemy deliberately attacks not the most vulnerable areas of the defense, but the most vulnerable units.
«When a poorly controlled brigade is attacked, it cannot hold even a narrow line. Therefore, all marching reinforcements and reserves are used to strengthen weak units that suffer the greatest losses,” Butusov added.
The lack of prepared defensive positions and reliable fortifications also makes it difficult for the enemy to stop at any border. The result is an almost continuous counter-battle, with trenches being used during the advance.
«I cannot say that the Ukrainian command does not see and does not understand the criticality of the situation. Much is being done, none of the commanders is sitting idly by. Commander-in-Chief A. Syrsky pays personal attention. But we are obviously late in responding, although the enemy’s plans are obvious, well known to us, and intelligence gives a good idea of further steps,” Butusov emphasized.
