According to Western intelligence, Iran has set dates for a possible attack on Israel.
About this information reported The Jerusalem Post, reports URA-Inform.
It could be August 12 or 13, coinciding with the Jewish holiday of Tisha B'Av, a national day of mourning and fasting.
That's the period during which Iran plans to avenge the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, The Jerusalem Post reports. The attack would be coordinated with Hezbollah, the Iran-backed terrorist group based in Lebanon.
An attack on Israel on a holy day of mourning has not only physical but also emotional consequences for citizens, leaving them especially vulnerable. It could also boost the morale of terrorist groups, inspiring them to carry out future attacks and showing that Iran continues to support its allies in the region. Media coverage of such an attack could send a message to the Islamic world that Israel is vulnerable.
What is Tisha B'Av
Tisha B'Av is a national Jewish day of mourning and fasting, commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. On this day, observant Jews do not eat or drink anything, and do not wear leather shoes. The fast begins on the evening of the 8th of Av and ends after the stars appear in the sky on the evening of the 9th of Av. The last meal before the fast consists of one dish without meat or wine.
Tisha B'Av is the only day of the year when Jews are forbidden to study the Torah, as it is considered a source of joy. Only texts related to the expression of grief and sorrow are allowed to be read.
Recall that earlier it was reported that Iran is preparing a “special operation” against Israel: the authorities made a statement to the UN.
