Today's meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi promises to be a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations.
This was stated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, URA-Inform reports with reference to India Today.
According to Yermak, Modi's visit to Kyiv is of historical significance, as this is the first official visit of the Prime Minister of India to Ukraine. He stressed that this meeting provides a unique opportunity to intensify cooperation between the two countries.
“After a long break in high-level visits, this moment is very important. We expect that the meeting between Modi and Zelensky will bring concrete results and help resolve many issues related to cooperation,” Yermak noted.
The Head of the President's Office also focused on the need to actively develop relations between Ukraine and India. He added that it is important not only to develop economic cooperation, but also to maintain a clear position on international security issues and aggression from the Russian Federation, as well as to find ways to a fair peace based on the Peace Formula.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kyiv on August 23, which coincided with preparations for Ukraine's Independence Day. This visit was the first time in history that the head of the Indian government visited Ukraine in the context of Russia's ongoing full-scale invasion.
Against this background, it is worth adding that the US gave the go-ahead to Russia regarding the Kursk region: it became known what the Ukrainian Armed Forces will do now.
