On Saturday, 31 August, a serious fire broke out on the roof of a five-story apartment building in the Solomensky district of Kyiv.
This was reported by the Kyiv Patrol Police, which was cited by URA-Inform.
The fire broke out on the roof of a five-story building located on Aviakonstruktora Antonova Street. According to the Kyiv State Fire Service, the fire was classified as the second rank, indicating its significant complexity and scale. The total area of the fire was about 700 square meters.
It took rescuers time to localize the fire. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, by 14:15, firefighting units were able to bring the flames under control and prevent their further spread. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the fire alarm was received at 13:10, and active work to extinguish the fire began a few minutes later.

Fire crews used special equipment and machinery to extinguish the fire and ensure the safety of the residents of the building. Representatives of emergency services also organized the evacuation of the building's residents and monitored safety in the area of the fire.
Due to the fire and the work to extinguish it, traffic on Aviakonstruktora Antonova and Volynska streets was difficult. The Kyiv patrol police asks city residents to take this information into account when planning their routes and, if possible, avoid the Solomenka area. Police officers also help regulate traffic to minimize congestion and ensure access for emergency services.
