People's Deputy Ukraine, member of the parliamentary committee on national security Fedor Venislavsky named two exceptions in which military personnel of this age may still be called up.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Slovoidilo.
< p>He noted that combat units refuse to take mobilized men over 50 years of age. But there are two exceptions, in which military personnel of this age can still be called up.
“Due to their age, health and physical fitness, they are not capable of carrying out combat missions. Therefore, the General Staff understands that there is no point in mobilizing them,” he explained people's deputy.
According to Venislavsky, military personnel of this age can be called up in two cases:
— if they have a military specialty that is in short supply and in demand;
— if they are mobilized into rear units, for example, as cooks or repairmen.
“But this is a limited number of people, so today citizens from 50 to 60 years old are already mobilized very rarely,” he noted. Venislavsky.
In turn, Korchinsky spoke about lowering the mobilization age: “It is possible from 14 years old.”
