President-elect Donald Trump said that BRICS countries may face 100% tariffs from the US.

The Republican stressed that the idea has come to an end that the BRICS countries may abandon the dollar in international settlements and try to find an alternative.
“We demand a commitment from these countries not to create a new BRICS currency or support any other currency to replace the US dollar. Otherwise, they will face 100% tariffs and will have to say goodbye to sales to the wonderful US economy,” & #8212; Trump said in a statement.
The politician also noted that there is no chance that BRICS will find a replacement for the dollar. And any state that tries to implement this “should wave goodbye to America.”
It is worth noting that the BRICS association includes such countries as Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, the UAE, Egypt and Ethiopia. Several other states are also applying for membership.
