Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban may set off on a new diplomatic tour as early as December to promote a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

Amid regular telephone conversations with US President-elect Donald Trump, Orban is seeking to strengthen his role as a mediator in international negotiations.
It is known that after Trump's victory in the November 5 elections, Orban and the new US president held several telephone conversations. According to sources, they discussed not only current events on the front, but also strategic issues concerning the sustainability of the Russian economy and the possibility of continuing military operations.
Trump's interest in the situation in Ukraine is linked to his election promises to quickly end the conflict. Orban, in turn, presented his assessment of the situation and stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire as the first step to long-term peace.
Orban is convinced that it is impossible to achieve sustainable peace without an immediate cessation of hostilities. His plan involves a sequential approach: first establishing a ceasefire, and then starting negotiations on long-term security guarantees for all parties to the conflict.
Sources in the Hungarian government claim that during his December tour, Orban plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Particular attention will be paid to negotiations with the European Union, since the mission may be timed to coincide with the EU summit in Brussels on December 19.
Against this background, information has emerged about how long the “shahids” can fly over Ukraine.
