According to sources in the Office Ukrainian President Andriy Yermak instructed lobbyists in the United States to ensure that Volodymyr Zelensky is invited to Donald Trump's inauguration.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Resident Telegram channel.
“To do this, it is proposed to increase the budget for the services of American lobbying companies. Bankova is confident that strengthening ties with the Republicans and “increased work in Congress will help to disrupt possible negotiation processes, which will force the United States to continue financial support for Ukraine,” — said at the beginning.
According to the insider, the President's Office sees this as a strategic necessity to maintain foreign aid in the changing political landscape in Washington.
Additionally, lobbyists must work to create a positive image of Ukraine among American politicians.
Particular emphasis is placed on the need to advance the Ukrainian agenda in the new conditions, where the role of Congress and the White House may change.
The situation is also exacerbated by the fact that Syrsky was given a special order regarding the nuclear power plant.
