Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin stated that he allegedly had no other choice but to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to ISW.
At the same time, he noted that it was necessary to attack Ukraine earlier than in February 202. This was reported by analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), who cited Putin's interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin on Sunday, December 22.
In it, he repeated his claim that Russia was due to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine even earlier than February 2022, but added that it was impossible to say exactly when this was supposed to happen.
According to Putin, Ukraine and the West “misled Russia” by failing to implement the Minsk agreements. This allegedly gave Western partners time to prepare Kyiv for future “military actions” against Russia.
The head of the Kremlin said that Russia had to “prepare for this” and “choose the right moment” to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and not “wait for the moment when nothing can be done.”
ISW noted that Putin did not mention Ukraine’s work to strengthen its army as a defensive response to Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian territory in 2014 year and the beginning of the war in the East of the country.
It also became known about steps with a subtext: scientists explained Putin's unusual gait.
