A photo of the alleged prisoner has appeared online. The photo shows a man of Asian appearance, next to him stands a man in a military fleece hat and a silver jacket. There is no official confirmation of this information yet.
An officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign “Alex” commented on the situation in a humorous manner, suggesting that the prisoner could soon join the ranks of the foreign “Korean Freedom Legion”. In his opinion, the North Korean soldier is unlikely to be exchanged, since Pyongyang has already said goodbye to the soldiers sent , considering them as a “commodity” for which a reward was received. Russia, Alex believes, will be even less interested in the fate of these soldiers.
The officer also said that there are positions near the border with Sumy Oblast where North Korean units are stationed in trenches. According to him, at night they successfully “terrorize” with drops, since the Russians have not provided their allies with thermal imagers or night vision devices, which makes them vulnerable.
