Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared his vision of possible ways to end the war with Russia, noting that this requires a combination of military and diplomatic work.
He spoke about this on February 4 in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, URA-Inform reports.
Zelensky emphasized that the support of allies is an important factor, but its current level is not enough to completely displace Russian troops.
“Unfortunately, the assistance we receive from our partners is not enough to completely oust Putin from Ukrainian soil,” the president noted.
Despite this, the Ukrainian army continues to successfully conduct operations, liberating the occupied territories. Military strategy remains a priority in liberating most of the country.
The Ukrainian President also indicated that he does not rule out the diplomatic path as one of the methods for returning territories. Zelensky believes that in certain cases, negotiations can become an effective tool for restoring control over lands lost as a result of the war.
“We will return our territories using a combined approach: on the battlefield, as our military does, and in some cases, through diplomacy. We have the right to do this, because we have not violated a single principle of international and moral law,” the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
Zelensky did not rule out the possibility of holding talks with Vladimir Putin if this will contribute to ending the war and restoring peace.
