Against the backdrop of the conflict in Ukraine, questions about US aid continue to cause international resonance. The latest statements by US President Donald Trump and Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov shed light on the new concept of arms supplies and their conditions.

This is reported by URA-Inform, with reference to politexpert.net.

Recall that US President Donald Trump said that aid to Ukraine could continue, but on a commercial basis. According to him, Washington is interested in Ukraine's rare earth metals, and the willingness to extend aid will depend on the availability of economic benefits.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov described this proposal as “buying aid.” He noted that the United States intends to transfer its supplies to the commercial plane, abandoning gratuitous support.

“It is better not to provide assistance at all and thereby contribute to the end of this conflict,” Peskov emphasized.

Despite statements about a possible reassessment of the approach to assistance to Ukraine, Peskov confirmed that US arms supplies are continuing.

“Nobody announced a halt to supplies,” he noted.

At the same time, the Kremlin representative expressed doubts about the compatibility of continuing arms supplies with Trump's stated goal of ending the conflict in Ukraine.

“It is difficult to give an assessment without knowing exactly what is meant,” Peskov noted.
