New provisions of the Road Traffic Rules come into force in Ukraine.

This information is stated in the resolution Cabinet No. 1105, reports URA-Inform.

According to them, low beam headlights outside the city remain mandatory after May 1. The corresponding changes to the traffic rules were made by Cabinet Resolution No. 1105 of October 20, 2023.

Now drivers must turn on low beam headlights or daytime running lights outside populated areas all year round. Let us remind you that previously such a requirement existed only in the autumn-winter period – from October 1 to May 1.

The new rules are designed to make cars more visible on the highway. Despite the fact that visibility on the roads is better in summer, cars with headlights on can be seen at a greater distance. In addition, similar requirements have long been in force in EU countries, that is, they decided to synchronize the Ukrainian traffic rules with European standards.

In conditions of deteriorating visibility, it is allowed to turn on the high beam headlights, but you need to be careful not to blind drivers of oncoming cars . The punishment for this traffic violation remains unchanged. The fine for not turning on low beam headlights ranges from 425 to 510 hryvnia.

We would like to remind you that it was previously reported whether property and cars will be confiscated from evaders: the lawyer’s answer.
