Liver diseases: doctors named three little-known signs of a dangerous condition.

This information was reported by Arguments, URA-Inform reports.

Doctors note that today about seven percent of the world's population suffer from liver fibrosis and do not know about it because they have no symptoms of the disease. And those signs that may indicate a dangerous condition are often so nonspecific that a person simply ignores them.

 According to doctors, there are several similar symptoms. In particular, problems with the liver can be indicated by constantly elevated body temperature, attacks of chills and nausea. Early signs of the disease also include loss of appetite and heaviness.

In fact, the initial stages are usually accompanied by flu-like symptoms, including discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract. Sometimes fibrosis becomes a precursor to cirrhosis, but it takes several years to identify the disease due to the patient ignoring the symptoms. In later stages of the disease, the condition causes swelling of the legs and abdomen, as well as jaundice.

The least known signs of liver disease also include:

— fever and tremors;

— the appearance of capillaries on the skin above waist level;

— loss of libido;

— weight fluctuations.

The most common symptoms are fatigue and exhaustion. Experts suggest that the underlying cause of chronic fatigue associated with liver disease may be caused by changes in brain chemistry and hormone levels resulting from liver dysfunction.

Specifically, altered levels of corticotropins, serotonin and norepinephrine. Experts also noted that symptoms associated with fatigue may increase due to an increase in toxic byproducts in the blood that the damaged liver can no longer eliminate from the body.
