Maguchikh won silver at the World Championships: what bar did the Ukrainian achieve?

On Friday, March 1, Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh won a silver medal at the 2024 World Championships indoors, which began in Glasgow, Scotland.

This information was reported by the Ukrainian Athletics Federation, URA-Inform reports.  

The Ukrainian athlete started the competition from a height of 1.92 meters. Yaroslava tried to conquer a height of 1.99 meters, but out of three attempts she could not do it. As a result, in Glasgow, the 22-year-old Ukrainian completed the competition with a result of 1.97 meters.

At the same time, one of Maguchi’s main rivals, Australian Nicola Olislagers, achieved a height of 1.99 meters on her third attempt, which brought her victory. Lia Apostolovski from Slovenia took third place with a result of 1.95 meters.

«The start of the season was better than its end. In fact, the feelings after the competition are mixed. But I’m glad for the medal, because every medal is important», — Yaroslava Maguchikh said after the performance.
