The mayor of Zaporozhye, Anatoly Kurtev, addressed the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky with a request to introduce a military administration in the city.
Kurtev reported this information, URA-Inform reports.
According to him, there is a serious threat of seizing power in Zaporozhye from pro-Russian parties. In particular, the discussion was about the political forces «OPZZH», «Sharia Party» and the party “Unity” controlled by V. Novinsky.
“It would be better if the city was headed by a military or law enforcement officer, we will not allow the city to be surrendered,” said the mayor.
On his page on the social network Facebook, Kurtev described the situation in detail and called her “coup attempt” in the city of Zaporozhye, and also posted a photo of the full address to the president:
«Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, not one of the deputies of our faction has left the front-line Zaporozhye. Several tens of kilometers from where the fighting is taking place, and continued to work, together with the parliamentary majority, ensuring support for the military, the reception of thousands of displaced people, the defense capability of the city, cooperation with international donors, the protection of critical infrastructure, and in the future also the implementation of all the tasks you set.< /p>
Unfortunately, the situation in the city council's deputy corps has changed dramatically. This is due to the manipulations of the newly appointed chairman of the Zaporozhye regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, who seeks to single-handedly seize power in the city and, for this purpose, puts pressure on the deputies of the Zaporozhye city council. He, behind the scenes, collects signatures from banned pro-Russian parties, resorts to bribery and puts pressure on local government so that the majority coalition in the Zaporozhye city council consists precisely of the Shariy party, OPZZH, controlled by Medvedchuk, and a satellite of the PI Oppoblok – «Unity» ;, controlled by the pro-Russian Novinsky. This is completely contrary to the norms of the current Legislation of Ukraine.
