This information was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense, URA-Inform reports.

The British Ministry of Defense, citing intelligence data, reported that there are now less than a thousand militants of the PMC «Wagner» in Belarus. This plays into the hands of the Kremlin and affects Ukraine.

British intelligence officers noted that the «Wagnerites» continue to train the Belarusian military. It is unlikely that the leader of the Belarusian regime, Alexander Lukashenko, will use them outside their competence.

Most likely, the militants are involved in training troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but are unlikely to be involved in internal or border security in Belarus.

«Long presence of «Wagner»mercenaries in Belarus almost certainly also benefits the Russian military effort by forcing Ukraine to maintain defensive positions and personnel along its northern border with Belarus to protect against potential future incursions», — noted in the UK Ministry of Defense.

We recall that it was previously reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces revealed how the Russian Federation is preparing to take revenge for the attack on the Belbek airfield: “they want to provoke.”
