German Lieutenant General Carsten Breuer noted that today there is no absolute certainty that Russia will decide to attack NATO countries.

At the same time, the military man said that the Alliance must be prepared for such a scenario. Russia may prepare to attack NATO countries in five to eight years, when it has regained its strength after the war in Ukraine.
«So in 2029 we must be ready. We see the threat in five to eight years», — the general believes.
Carsten Breuer noted that the aggressor country of the Russian Federation has increased the production of military equipment. However, according to the general, not all of it is sent to the front in Ukraine.
«By that time, based on our analysis, Russia will have restored its strength to such a level that an attack on NATO territory will become possible. I'm not saying it will happen, but it could be possible», — he stated.
