Why Scholz is delaying the transfer of Taurus: Zelensky said what the German chancellor is afraid of

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky told German journalists what Scholz is afraid of.

Bild reported this information , reports URA-Inform.

He noted that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is afraid of the nuclear threat from Russia. That is why he is delaying the provision of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

«Our partners have certain weapons that we need today to survive. Ukraine needs them to survive, and I just don’t understand why we don’t get these weapons», — he said.

At the same time, the Ukrainian president explained that he meant Taurus, as well as American ATACMS short-range missiles and F-16 fighters. Zelensky noted that the discussion on the supply of Taurus continues, but this issue is «not so simple».

«As far as I understand, the Chancellor says that Germany is not a nuclear power and that this is the most powerful weapons system in Germany», — he noted.

When asked whether the refusal of the Taurus had anything to do with the nuclear threats of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Zelensky replied:

«Scholz said that it was so. But I don't think it will protect the world from the nuclear threat from Russia.

In his opinion, no weapon can be «really useful» in the event of a nuclear war, even ATACMS or F-16.

«The answer is explosive because Chancellor Olaf Scholz has so far justified his refusal of the Taurus differently: namely, that he does not want to turn Germany into a war party, because Ukraine can use Taurus missiles to hit targets on Russian territory», — Bild journalists commented on Zelensky’s words.

We would like to remind you that it was previously reported that the coming months in Ukraine will be difficult: the State Control Department gave a disappointing forecast.
