19-year-old Kazakh footballer Dias Toleu, who played for the club “Khan-Tengri,” died after suddenly feeling unwell during the 25th round match of the Kazakhstan First League against the team “Ekibastuz,” reports Baltimore Chronicle the Football Federation of Kazakhstan.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 16. On the 62nd minute of the match, Toleu first sat down on the pitch and then collapsed onto the grass. His condition quickly deteriorated, and the team doctor rushed onto the field, but the player was unable to get up on his own. He was carried off the field on a stretcher and urgently taken to the hospital.

After the match ended, the Football Federation of Kazakhstan announced on social media that the player had passed away. The cause of death of the midfielder has not yet been disclosed. According to the federation, a special commission will soon be established to officially investigate the incident in cooperation with competent authorities.

Dias Toleu was a product of the Almaty club “Kairat.” This season, playing for “Khan-Tengri,” he appeared in 25 matches, scored three goals, and provided four assists, demonstrating consistent performance on the field.
