Details : After approval by the committee, the issue of Sweden's accession to NATO will be considered by the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. To ratify the accession protocol, the decision must be supported by a simple majority of voting participants.
It is not yet known when exactly such a vote will take place.
As is known, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the end of October, after several months of delays, sent the protocol on Sweden's accession to NATO to the country's parliament for ratification.
Parliament is in no hurry to consider it, formally explaining that the issue is not a priority.
But Erdogan himself recently directly stated that the ratification of Sweden's accession to NATO in the Turkish parliament could be accelerated by “positive changes ” in the United States and Canada regarding the decisions that Ankara wants.
