The number of people poisoning with carbon monoxide is increasing in Ukraine
The number of cases of poisoning is increasing in Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to doctors, from December 1, 2023 to January 15, 2024, 103 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning occurred in Ukraine. As a result, 9 people died.
Emergency workers noted that such tragedies are often caused by fires due to violations of the rules for the arrangement and operation of stoves and heaters.

In December 2023, about 650 cases of such fires were recorded in Ukraine. This accounts for 20% of the total number of fires.
- In the Odessa region, three children were poisoned by carbon monoxide.

In October, five people were found dead in the Lviv region – three women and two men. According to preliminary data, people died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Two more children were hospitalized in serious condition.
- In early December, in the Poltava and Lvov regions, 6 people, including 5 children, were poisoned by carbon monoxide and combustion products.
