It was possible to return 56 children to territory controlled by Ukraine.
Ukraine managed to return another child from temporary custody – the Ministry of Reintegration reports temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The return of the child took place within the framework of the “Way Home” project. As part of this project, 56 Ukrainian children have already been returned home.
“In December 2023, a woman named Maria contacted the Ministry of Reintegration. She asked for help in returning her young daughter from the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporozhye region. At the time of the start of the full-scale “War, the girl was visiting her grandparents there. They could not leave right away, since the grandmother was seriously ill. There was no way to transport her. It was also risky for the parents to take the girl on their own. When the grandmother died, Maria asked for help,” the message says .
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the occupiers have deported about 20 thousand Ukrainian children to the territory of the Russian Federation. These children are not just displaced, but also deprived of their Ukrainian identity.
