Mini start of the largest US military exercises in Europe under the name DEFENDER-24.
As Ukrinform reports, warships with equipment for the event have already set sail across the ocean. The exercises will continue until May 31, and more than 40 thousand soldiers from 20 NATO countries will take part in them and partners. The goal is to “demonstrate the strong defense relationship that is the basis for peace in Europe.”
DEFENDER-24 will take place as part of the Steadfast Defender Alliance's largest global exercise since the Cold War. developing a strategic deployment of troops, achieving interoperability and combat readiness, and coordinating efforts to deter a potential enemy.
