Ukraine and the Czech Republic are building a “powerful” strategic alliance.

A plant for the production of cartridges and assault rifles will be built in Ukraine, — an alliance that will make Europe safer. In particular, the countries have signed agreements for the construction of a cartridge factory and. production of assault rifles.

Prime Minister Denis Smigal announced this during a joint press conference with the head of the Czech government, Peter Fiala, writes “Public”.

“At the joint intergovernmental meeting, we focused on such key aspects as defense support and military-technical cooperation, interaction between governments on projects for the restoration of Ukraine, as well as foreign policy and economic cooperation, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere and medicine, and a number of other areas,” Szmigal said.

“The countries signed two agreements in the field of the defense industry. In particular, they plan to build a new cartridge plant in Ukraine.”

“An agreement was signed between the Czech Sellier&Bellot and Ukroboronservice. This is important for supplying our army now. The second agreement is the production of assault rifles by Colt CZ Group in Ukraine: this is an agreement between Ceska Zbrojovka and a Ukrainian enterprise, which I will not name from a security point of view “, said the Ukrainian Prime Minister.

Szmigal also noted that another “point of dialogue” was the implementation of the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“The initiative is already in effect. The first 50 thousand shells arrived in Ukraine. Some of this ammunition is destroying Russian occupiers right now on the front line,” he said.

There is also the possibility of joint projects for the production of ammunition on the territory of the Czech Republic or in safe places on Ukrainian territory.
