All nuclear power plants in the controlled territory are operating normally.
and the Defense Ministry and the Security Service “to take urgent measures to bring to justice” those who are spreading rumors about the accident at the South Ukrainian NPP.
This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Energy.
“The fake story about the “accident at the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant” was first thrown into the Ukrainian information space by Russian propaganda in response to its own attempts to hide the accident at the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant, information about which appeared in the media earlier. Unfortunately, despite the official denial of the Center for Strategic Security, in Ukraine open manipulations began regarding the state of the nuclear power plant equipment,” the report says.
The Ministry of Energy notes that there was no shutdown of the power transformer at the station. If such an event were to occur, it would make it impossible to supply electricity and would actually lead to the need to shut down the nuclear unit.
Damage to other equipment does not affect the operation of the unit and can only have a short-term (within hours) impact on the ability to issue.
This is a direct consequence of targeted attacks by the Russians on energy infrastructure facilities and abnormal weather conditions. This situation cannot in any way be considered a “nuclear power plant accident.” The nuclear power unit is in working condition. Attempts by irresponsible politicians to speculate and spread outright manipulations at the nuclear power plant are unacceptable,” the ministry emphasized.
