The Russians have allegedly lost control over the only transit point for blue fuel in Ukraine.
On European markets, gas prices have shown the greatest increase this year. The cost of one megawatt-hour reached 38.45 euros – the highest since December last year.
According to Bloomberg, the events in the Kursk region of Russia have led to an almost 5% increase in the price of blue fuel. According to unconfirmed reports, the Ukrainian military managed to take control of the Sudzha gas metering station, the only point through which Russian gas is transited through Ukrainian territory.
Since Europe has not introduced restrictions on gas from the occupying country in its sanctions packages, and some states still depend on it, even the slightest threat of stopping transit is immediately reflected in market prices. At the same time, the Ukrainian gas transportation system operator denies any interruptions or reduction in transit volumes.
According to experts, Ukraine could stop transit if necessary even without seizing Sudzha.
All domestic military and political departments maintain a regime of complete information silence regarding the operation in the Kursk region.
