The government intends to raise the amount of social assistance for a certain category of elderly citizens of our country from next year.

As reported by NBN with reference to the “Draft Law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2025”, published on the official page of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Chernobyl pensioners, literally in a few months, will receive a monthly supplement to payments in the amount of 2,361 hryvnia, but subject to specific criteria.
In particular, the above-described additional payment will be assigned to non-working pensioners permanently residing in the zone of unconditional mandatory resettlement/guaranteed voluntary resettlement. In addition, a strict condition for the accrual of these additional payments is residence/employment in such zones in the period from April 26, 1986 to January 1, 1993.
It should also be noted that additional payments to the benefit are established not on a permanent basis, but only for the duration of martial law or when a person moves from an unconditional evacuation zone.
Conducting proper verification of the reliability of information about applicants for additional payments is assigned to the Pension Fund, whose specialists will check with the Unified State Demographic Register and other similar state databases.
