Petr Pavel disagrees with assessments of weakening defense in Donetsk region.
Petr Pavel
The situation in this direction is not directly related to the Kursk operation conducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This opinion was voiced to Radio Liberty correspondents by Czech President Petr Pavel.
According to the head of state, the enormous efforts that the enemy is making to move to Pokrovsk are connected with the political goal of capturing the territories of four Ukrainian regions, which the Kremlin considers its own. And the Russians are trying to do this while the weather allows for large-scale offensive operations.
Earlier, some Western media outlets, including Forbes, began to claim that the Kursk operation did not lead to the expected slowdown in the advance occupiers in Donbass, since the Russian army decided not to send forces from this direction to defend its territory.
