The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation noted that less than 1% of the DPRK army’s officer corps speaks Russian.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Andriy Kovalenko denied information about the alleged training of 100,000 DPRK troops for war against Ukraine.
He wrote about this on social networks .
“The information about the training of 100 thousand DPRK troops and their deployment in Ukraine, which appeared in the media, is now fiction,” the statement said.
He later added that less than 1% of the DPRK army’s officer corps speaks Russian. It is important to understand this in order to analyze the possibility of involving these troops in the actions of the Russian army in the future.
- The day before, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters discussed the “de facto inclusion” of North Korea in the war against Ukraine.
- A few days ago, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that several thousand North Korean troops are undergoing training in Russia and may likely be transferred to the front line in the future. Moreover, soldiers from the DPRK are already fighting in Ukraine.
