SBU and National Police officers “hot on the heels” detained a man suspected of planting and detonating an improvised explosive device near the TCC and SP building in Dnipro , the SBU press service reports.
During investigative and search activities, law enforcement officers established that a previously convicted 37-year-old resident of the region was involved in the terrorist attack.
As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to the investigation, on December 14, 2024 at 14:45 in one of the districts of the city of Dnipro near the administrative building, an improvised explosive device exploded.
As a result of the terrorist attack, a man was killed. Another man and two police officers who were on duty at the time were seriously injured. Nearby residential buildings were damaged.
The suspect has now been taken to the police station. Searches are ongoing at the detainee's place of residence, and all necessary investigative actions are being carried out.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect and declaring him suspected under Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act) is being decided.

According to the company, the time and scope of shutdowns for residential consumers will be as follows:
- 8:00 – 14:00 – one shutdown queue;
- 14:00 – 17:00 – two queues;
- 17:00 – 22:00 – one queue.
For industry and business, shutdown schedules will be in effect from 8:00 – 22:00.
“The reason for introducing restrictions is damage to energy facilities as a result of Russian missile and drone attacks in November-December. Repair work is ongoing. Power engineers are working to return the equipment damaged by the enemy to operation as soon as possible,” Ukrenergo assured.
Today, December 14, members of the Electoral College of Georgia, the absolute majority of which was made up of the “Georgian Dream”, elected Mikhail Kavelashvili as president.
The former football player, a representative of the “People's Power”, was the only candidate.
