Earlier, “Ukrainska Pravda” published an article about the abuse of soldiers of the 211th pontoon bridge brigade. The investigation of the incidents has been ongoing since the spring of this year, but so far no one has been punished. The culprits were promoted, and those who started talking about the problem ended up in the infantry.
It was established that in the fall of 2023, Poberezhnyuk involved four subordinates in the construction of his house in Khmelnytskyi region instead of their service in combat zones.
After the investigation was released, the General Staff announced that they were conducting an investigation into the abuses of officials. And by decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a commission of the Military Law Enforcement Service was sent to the military unit.
Later it became known that the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov ordered an investigation into the situation in the brigade.
Law enforcement officers have launched a pre-trial investigation into the brigade officials on the fact of abuse of power or official authority by a military official (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In addition, the brigade commander has been notified of the suspicion of abuse of office (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
