He ordered his subordinates to take the drunk soldier into a room and undress him in order to humiliate him, and then beat him.</p> <p>“A month later, in Avdiivka, Donetsk region, a senior lieutenant beat up the same soldier again and ordered the servicemen to lift the beaten man from the ground, put him against a wooden structure in the form of a cross, and tie his hands to it. The latter remained in this position for about four hours,” the DBR reported.</p> <p>Another case of beating a soldier has also been recorded. This also happened in February 2024 in Dnipropetrovsk region.   • Earlier, “Ukrainska Pravda” published an article about the abuse of soldiers of the 211th pontoon bridge brigade. The investigation of the incidents has been ongoing since the spring of this year, but so far no one has been punished. The culprits were promoted, and those who started talking about the problem ended up in the infantry.
  • It was established that in the fall of 2023, Poberezhnyuk involved four subordinates in the construction of his house in Khmelnytskyi region instead of their service in combat zones.
  • After the investigation was released, the General Staff announced that they were conducting an investigation into the abuses of officials. And by decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a commission of the Military Law Enforcement Service was sent to the military unit.
  • Later it became known that the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov ordered an investigation into the situation in the brigade.
  • Law enforcement officers have launched a pre-trial investigation into the brigade officials on the fact of abuse of power or official authority by a military official (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In addition, the brigade commander has been notified of the suspicion of abuse of office (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
