Irina Vereshchuk
Deputy Head of the Office of the President Irina Vereshchuk reported that the deadline for voluntary return to service after unauthorized departure from a unit (SZCh) may be extended.
“The deadline for voluntary return to service after unauthorized departure from a unit (SZCh) expired on January 1, 2025. The idea is to extend this period (how long exactly is a matter for discussion),” she wrote.
Vereshchuk noted that this proposal was discussed at an interdepartmental meeting on veteran policy and social protection of the military. The discussion is also already ongoing with the Defense Committee of the Council.
She also reported that they are considering the option of more actively involving recruiters from successful combat units to work on returning soldiers.
The military personnel who went to the SZCh must return by January 1: then they will avoid the sentence and receive all social guarantees
“If someone manages to successfully return a soldier to duty, then we need to let people work and support them in every possible way. (By the way, we must not allow a situation where a unit has agreed to take a person after the SZCh to itself, but he is sent to another unit),” Vereshchuk wrote.
